Montana Wedding Flowers

Farm fresh flowers for your
Montana wedding.

Thank you for considering Bleeding Heart Flower Farm for your one-of-a-kind wedding florals: fresh, seasonal, sustainably grown, and jaw-droppingly beautiful.

From late May through mid-October, we custom grow seasonal flowers in multiple on-trend wedding color palettes here at our farm.

All the most requested wedding items are available from our A La Carte Menu of wedding florals:  from bouquets to centerpieces to arch florals to flower crowns.

We design to match your floral vision, and we excel at bringing the unique qualities of every design aesthetic to life:

  • romantically lush garden style

  • bohemian style, wild with texture and incorporating dried elements like grasses and grains

  • wildflowery whimsy, typically brimming with a riot of joyful color

  • classic and creamy style, with sophisticated tone-on-tone restraint

  • rustic nature-inspired style, perfectly complementing Montana's beautiful landscapes and views

  • modern and minimal aesthetic, with thoughtful attention to line and form

No matter your unique inspiration, our designs create sensory magic to elevate the look and feel of your Montana wedding celebration beyond the ordinary.

The key to working with a Montana flower farm and using our seasonal blooms for your wedding is flexibility.

We achieve your flower vision with the most beautifully and abundantly blooming varieties growing in our field the week of your wedding. We guarantee your palette, but we do not ordinarily promise specific flower varieties because seasonal flowers come and grow by season, and Mother Nature has the last word on timing. (We can and do sometimes supplement with product from other local or domestic farms, but we try to avoid importing from international growers because of our commitment to sustainability.)

Explore our Services, Pricing, and Raves from previous wedding clients, then start the ball rolling via our Inquiries/Start a Quote form, which will guide you through the information we need to write you a clear, no-surprises Quote.

How much do wedding flowers cost?

For such a straightforward question, a bewildering variety of variables affect the answer. We are committed to clear and transparent pricing for our wedding florals so that our clients can learn and prioritize without self-consciousness or budget sensitivity.

We will send you a custom Quote after you submit our Inquiries/Start a Quote form, and our a La Carte prices are also listed on our A La Carte & Bulk Florals Menu.

On average, couples spend approximately ten to fifteen percent of their total wedding budget on flowers. In 2023, the average cost for wedding flowers in the United States was $2300. Factors influencing the final cost include:

  • quantity of flowers

  • type of flowers

  • size of wedding party

  • number of guests and guest tables

  • desired level of floral coverage (from minimal to lush)

  • desired level of service (learn the differences between DIY, A La Carte and Full Service here)

  • and any unique requirements dictated by the wedding and reception venue(s).

We work with budgets large and small, and can usually offer recommendations to help fulfill your vision and maximize the visual impact of your wedding flowers while working within your budget.

Some specialty focal flowers (like peonies, dahlias, orchids, roses or protea) are sold by the stem or bunch and cost more because we have a larger investment in root stock, and/or they carry a higher market value, and/or we have to order them in from another domestic supplier. We will confer with you before adding these pricier flowers to your order.

Wedding Florals Services Guide

There are three primary ways to source your wedding flowers:

  1. Full Service

  2. A La Carte and

  3. DIY, using bulk flowers from our Bridal Buckets.

This handy Guide will help you understand and compare the differences.

1

Full Service

High-end service. Limitless selection of flowers, vessels, arches, stands and other floral products. Fully custom. Can include unique large-scale installations, draping, floral chandeliers, custom-built arches and chuppahs, dramatic aisles, entries, stairs, tablescaping, edible flowers and more.

Cost

Fee covers flowers, hardgoods, softgoods, and rentals, but also consultations, installations, artistry, time and expertise.

Communications

Extensive and high touch.

Collaborative consultations, venue visits, mood boards, mockups, samples and sketches. Phone calls, emails, behind-the-scenes vendor coordination (venue, planner, patisserie, photographer, caterer). Precise timeline coordination.

Transport, placement & install

Delivery, placement and installation are included in fee. Striking, deinstallation and removal of vessels and other florals is often included at additional line item cost. Travel and lodging expenses (if any) are borne by the Clients.

Perfect for

Clients seeking effortless luxe. Clients with a very particular aesthetic vision dependent on specific flowers (i.e. orchids, tropicals, smilax, imports). Clients with healthy wedding budgets.

Note

Due to farming demands, Bleeding Heart Flower Farm currently offers only two to three full service weddings per season, with a minimum spend of $3000. If your event requires full service on a date that we cannot accommodate, we are always happy to refer you to other wonderful local floral artists in our area.

2

A La Carte

Beautiful finished products in client's selected color palette. Client chooses from a pre-set menu of customary wedding favorites. High quality wedding designs, but limited choice of vessels, ribbons, finishes. Specific flowers are not guaranteed.

Cost

Transparent upfront pricing. Different price-points per item may be offered, corresponding to size and lushness of finished pieces (i.e. partial or full flower crown; statement or focal arch floral cluster).

Communications

Streamlined. Inquiry, date and palette inspo. Quote and minor adjustments. Deposit and contract. On-farm pickup of designs and final payment.

Transport, placement & install

Clients (or designee) pick up finished products and return rentals and loans to the farm. For larger a la carte orders, delivery assistance may be available at extra charge. Placement and installation may be available at extra charge. Striking and vessel pick-up after reception not typically offered.

Perfect for

Clients with clear idea of needs, palette and flexible mindset on particular flowers or "exact" copies of inspo. Clients who value sustainability. Clients who are balancing budget, time and floral vision considerations.

Note

Many clients create a "hybrid" of A La Carte and DIY floral models, with Bleeding Heart Flower Farm designing some of the more complicated wedding deliverables, e.g. bouquets, wearables and arch florals, and Clients DIYing elements that require less skill and experience, such as bud vases.

3

DIY

Beautiful raw floral product sold in bulk by the bucket. Premium flowers (e.g. roses, peonies) sold by the bunch or stem.

Buckets include a mix of focals, fillers and foliages to create well-balanced designs.

Buckets are offered in either grower's choice or in customer's chosen color palette.

Stems are stripped and conditioned for maximum beauty.

Client transforms bulk florals into finished wedding designs.

Cost

$85/bucket for grower's choice; $100/bucket for client's chosen color palette. Buckets contain ~70 stems each.

Communications

Minimal. Inquiry, date and palette description. Order buckets. Deposit and contract.

Transport, placement & install

Not included. Client picks up and returns buckets at agreed dates and times.

Perfect for

Clients with floral experience or desire to research/learn. Takes legwork to source vessels and supplies. Clients are responsible for creating recipes and making stem count calculations. Requires workspace with cool temperatures, time for work, and help from others with designing, transporting & placing the flowers. Budget-savvy, but keep it simple.

Note

Many clients create a "hybrid" of our A La Carte and DIY florals, with Bleeding Heart Flower Farm creating more complex designs, and Clients DIY'ing easier elements such as bud vases. There is a 3-bucket minimum for bulk florals, unless combined with an A La Carte order exceeding >$500.
